As earlier said the construction and erection of transmission tower are one of really important and major construction activity in electrical energy industry. So it is really essential to have better safety measure to perform such tasks. In here we have described some safety actions which we can perform while erection of transmission towers.
- The loading and unloading of the tower part should done very carefully and systematically. When it’s perform by manually the respect person should wear suitable safety gloves.
- In most case the tower part are supplied by bottom to top of the tower. So there should be some special and clear signalling or communication between the persons who supply tower parts.
- If any lifting equipment are used to lift such tower parts the lifting equipment must test according to the standard loads.
- The derrick which use before the erection of transmission tower need to especially check for the respect strength and size.
- It is better to avoid all activities of tower erection in rainy days to avoid any hazards.
- In heavy cloudy and lightning days it’s also better to avoid activities related to tower erection to avoid lightning hazards which can potentially cause.
- The person who work under tower erection work should equiped with all safety tools such as, Safety belts, safety shoes, Helmets etc.
- It is really essential to use safety belt which fitted to tower when that person climbing into the tower.
9.The tower members are need to connect with the correct size of the nuts and bolts of the sections of tower.
- When unexpected heavy wind or storm it is really essential to take the mitigatory measure for sudden causes. Every person who work near such tower line should immediately walk away from the tower line to eliminate the potential hazards.
- A strong rope should use for guying and lifting items (Better to use polypropylene rope) . After 5 time check the condition of the rope which use . When the rope is not under good condition its should be immediately reject.
